Me Again

Lately: finger puppets, flowers on my desk, milkshakes, beautiful libraries and quiet rides on the train lost in thought (so much so that I almost miss my stop). Focusing on these little moments helps me stop worrying so much about work/assignments/the future. Also, I'm rather looking forward to Spring and feeling the sun on my bare arms again! How are you? :)

Mmmm. Sounds lovely. Did you make that reindeer? Can you share the pattern? Milkshake. Mmm. Feel like one now. Caramel. Library? Which one?

Marie: As much as I love Winter, I'm tired of being cold all the time! Hooray for the sun. :)

Amy: Good ideas sometimes come that way though, right?

Katie: No, my friend gave me the reindeer, I wish I could make fingerpuppets that would be so nice. The libary is in South Yarra, I found it by accident. It's got really beautiful ceilings as I think it's built inside an old town hall. Should do more research!

milkshakes and finger puppets (among other things) sound like a great way to distract yourself from assignments and the like. i always end up in the kitchen baking when i feel a bit worried - i have to eat, after all :)

funny i've just been to this seminar where they talked abt splitting the work and personal life. and i sort of have my train trips as my "third space" to really get lost and try to stop thinking abt work and recharge myself for other fun things on my own time. lovely pics, as always!

Hello again,
Thanks for the update. I always enjoy the little snippets into your life, you should do this more often.
I've been preoccupied (in the mind) by assignments. I wish if this translated to actual physical work - I want so much to actually get things DONE. But somehow this is hardly ever the case...And with my degree I must do work consistently, keep at it.
I really like traveling on the old Yarra trams - the ones with the really spaced apart seats. They make me so excited, like I've stepped back in time or something. The afternoon ones always catch the best natural light flickers as well. Mm it's a great feeling riding in one of these rare trains. I wonder if other passengers appreciate it just as much or think that they're a nuisance and 'old' (crap).
Hm.
Thanks again

I too have been making milkshakes with leftover ice-cream in the freezer and enjoying snuggling up in bed with them, in the last few days of cold weather we're probably going to have for the year. My distraction has been marking, marking, marking.
Those finger puppets are adorable!

danica: baking is a very soothing way to forget things. plus, you end up with something nice to eat. :)

laura: i like taking the train for this reason, because it gives me a chance to zone out. hope we both find a way to make everything work!

anon: thanks so much for your thoughtful and lovely comment, i really enjoyed reading it.
i guess i don't update too much about my life because it's not very exciting, but it when people share bits about their lives too. i've been on those old trams, and they're charming, with much more character.
good luck with your degree, i hope things work out for you! :)

autumnbird: what a lovely thought! autumn is the most wonderful season! :D
