There was so much I loved about this film when I was young (not to mention the book), and after rewatching it recently it's nice to know some things don't change. I used to wish for a secret garden with baby lambs and wild moors, trees to climb and treasures hidden in locked drawers and of course, a boy with a white pony. What were your favourite films when you were little?

Oh my goshhhh. I love this movie! One of my favorites. I knew from the first photo it was Secret Garden all the way. Have you read the book? It's amazing. Lovely post!
Hope you are well,
Jess.
I haven't seen it, but after looking at these images I think I should! It looks quite darling.
For some odd reason my favourite film to watch as a child was The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Hmmm...
anon: thank you, you should! the dress is by milly margo, it's very pretty indeed. :)
ana: oh thank you, that's such a compliment coming from you. Your drawings are wonderful, you are a very talented lady. Thank you for visiting.

wow wow!
What a wonderful, delightful post...
My favourite film when i was young, was definitely the Lion King, oh and i guess it was called My girl or something, because the girl was so pretty and i wanted to look like her.
:)
Mila.
Oh wow, I love this post. This was one of my favorite movies when I was young too! It's been ages since I have seen it and have just now realized through your post how beautiful it was cinematography wise. Now I have to watch it again immediately, haha. :)
I love this post and I love this film. The house where they filmed it is my dream house.
My favourate childhood books were Peter Pan and the Little Prince - I always wanted to be a little boy who didn't grow up (I thought boys had more fun) :)
oh what a lovely lovely post <3
this movie seems really you :)
I LOVE that movie, one of my all time favorites.
and your blog.
Ah, yes, this was a favourite film from my childhood days, too. I also enjoyed reading it from a big old hardcover book that belonged to my Dad. I long to discover such a magical place.
I always get this movie and A Little Princess confused with each other. I still can't make a clear distinction between the two. But I'm glad I was reminded The Secret Garden, it's so haunting.
mila: i loved the lion king too! i miss the golden age of disney. my girl was a pretty sweet film too, haven't seen it for ages!
laney: it's nice to be reminded of old films! so many memories...
thanks! :)
hila: in many ways i still want to be peter pan! and the little prince is such a wonderful book, i want to find an old copy of it...
:)
alice: thank you dear. i hope everything is going well for you. xoxo
gracia: that sounds wonderful! i gave my old copy away, which was a silly thing to do because i wish i still had it now...
young mind: i think because the books are written by the same author, which is why you might get them mixed up...
haunting is a good way to describe it though. :)
oh- thank-you for the reminder- it has been years and would love to see if it still makes my heart flutter.
x ashley
Oh what year/version of The Secret Garden is this? I don't think I've seen this one... Love the images you choose from it though, so sweet!
I really love your blog, by the way! :)
