The home of artist Meryl Smith seems to have taken its inspiration from natural history museums and Wunderkammer. Anyone that owns a teabag shirt is, in my opinion, fantastic. Here to see close-ups of the mummies and to peek into the home of other arty types.

I received a most wonderful package the other day from a sweet penpal. There was a charming old book about Paris, a pretty notebook with this little twig of a pencil and a little felt bird. It made me smile and daydream about all the great cities of the world I would like to explore.

I can hardly believe it is almost September already! Sometimes it feels like there are too many things to do in a day, and often as a result, this wayward little blog tends to get neglected.

Only a few more days left of Winter. I'm going to make the most of wearing socks to bed, frost on my car in the morning and very hot chocolate with perfect froth.

I find the work of American artist Kiki Smith fascinating and beautiful. While she works primarily in sculpture, her prints focus on topics such as nature and anatomy, with elements of folk tale and mythology.

A perfectly pretty top found through Totokaelo.
A decadent breakfast- blueberry danish and vanilla tea with honey.
What makes your morning?

Set in the gardens of Alnwick Castle is one of the largest wooden treehouses in the world. Built around 16 mature lime trees, Alnwick Treehouse consists of a complex of turreted cottages linked by suspended walkways. It sounds amazing! I wish I could visit. Not to mention there's a castle nearby too.

Here are some photographs I found on Flickr:

The view as seen from the treehouse.

I kind of miss having long hair today.

The best nights are sometimes spent inside with a bowl of popcorn and films you have watched a million times. Dazed and Confused is still one of my favourite teen films, there are so many moments that make me laugh out loud.

Also some films I've seen lately:
